April Showers Bring May Flowers

I'm longing for the day when I can make flowery cotton dresses. Despite the unseasonably warm temperatures we've been having in the 'burgh, there's still a bit of winter to go. And then there's the rainy season to get through. In anticipation of April showers, my next project is a rain coat.

Here's a quick preview of the fabric:

It's home dec fabric.  The pattern suggests using laminated cotton, but I when I saw it in the store I couldn't get over how shiny it was.  I think this stuff will be fairly water-resistant and warm enough for cool spring days.

I'm planning bound button holes for this sucker.  Wish me luck!
